Two volunteers discussing bats with a boy and a girl at the Society in 2009

Volunteers at the Society’s annual Halloween event discuss Missouri bats with two young visitors.

Members, patrons, and friends of the Society are invited to participate in the volunteer service program! Friendly, energetic individuals who enjoy meeting people and working with the public can help in a number of ways.

Volunteer opportunities include repairing fragile newspapers prior to microfilming, making copies for patrons and staff, data entry, and assisting staff with a variety of tasks. Volunteers receive thorough training prior to undertaking an assignment.

Volunteering at the Society is a great opportunity to meet new people and make new friends while furthering the Society’s services and mission. Volunteers receive recognition and service awards for hours and length of service and participate in Society social activities.

Persons interested in volunteer opportunities can contact Lauren Leeman at (573) 882-1187 or by e-mail. Please be sure to include your name, address, city, state, and phone number.
