Finding Aids

Staff members will search finding aids to the Society’s holdings free of charge for one person, one event, one institution, or one place. Finding aids include card indexes and databases.

Online Newspaper Index Research

Request articles from the Index to Selected Missouri Newspapers.

Full text of the newspapers is not available online but researchers may order copies of articles found in the index.

Newspaper Research

Researcher must provide one name, exact date, and place.

Use the Missouri Newspaper Search Request Form.

General Research

Staff will conduct up to 60 minutes of research. Up to 3 specific requests totaling 60 minutes.

State Historical Society members: Free $1.50 per citation (includes scan and e-mailing of image) $5.00 & up to ten copies (legal-size paper or smaller) $10.00 & up to ten photocopies  (legal-size paper or smaller)
Missouri nonmembers: Free $1.50 per citation (includes scan and e-mailing of image)

$10.00 & up to ten copies  (legal-size paper or smaller)

$15.00 & up to ten photocopies  (legal-size paper or smaller)
Out-of-state nonmembers: Free $1.50 per citation (includes scan and e-mailing of image) $15.00 & up to ten copies  (legal-size paper or smaller) $20.00 & up to ten photocopies  (legal-size paper or smaller)

Rush Orders

Rush orders are accepted at discretion of senior staff.

Charged in addition to all other fees.

Fee $25.00 in addition to the usual research fee
Copies and Digital Images twice the usual price
