"Traveling west on the Quincy, Missouri and Pacific Railroad, the first station within the limits of Knox County is the beautiful little village of Knox City. The elevation of its situation affords a magnificent view in every direction. Surrounding it are wide, level fields, dotted with farmhouses, and lined with hedges. Away in the north the woods that border Bridge Creek are visible, and near at hand the clean white town gives a pleasing effect to the landscape."
