The State Historical Society of Missouri will sponsor a family history day with two workshops geared toward children and adults on Saturday, March 3, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., in the Society’s quarters.
The first workshop, presented by Society senior reference specialist Ara Kaye, will focus on genealogy. Winifred Bryan Horner, professor emeritus of English at the University of Missouri-Columbia, will discuss memoir writing in the second workshop.
Bring the whole family to Family History Day at the Society to participate in these fun and educational workshops. Kids of all ages are welcome. Construct a family tree, learn how to research your ancestors, and begin recording your life story for future generations to read and enjoy.
Family History Day is free for Society members and $10.00 per family for nonmembers. Pre-registration is required, and space is limited. Call (573) 882-7083 or visit www.umsystem.edu/shs/familyhistory.shtml to register.
Come learn about your past and leave your mark for the future!
