December 23, 2004 First State Historical Society Workshop Will Provide Overview of Newspaper Library***Due to popular demand 2nd workshop added January 18th***Sign-up now! The first workshop in the State Historical Society of Missouri’s new series, titled “The Newspaper Library: An Overview and Getting Started,” will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2005, in the Society’s quarters on the University of Missouri–Columbia campus. The workshop, geared toward less experienced researchers, will provide a brief overview of materials available in the Society’s Newspaper Library and the information that can be found in these resources. For those interested in genealogical research, the workshop will cover how to cite sources and record data using family group sheets, pedigree charts, and census forms. The session will run from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The workshop is open to the public but limited to fifteen participants. Pre-registration is required, and registration forms can be downloaded from the Society’s Web site, or requested by calling (573) 882-7083. The workshop is free for Society members and $10 for non-members. Persons interested in joining the Society can do so for $20 for an individual annual membership or $30 for a family annual membership.
