My fellow historians and history fans,
Welcome to the 47th Annual Missouri Conference on History Website! The Department of History, Humanities, Philosophy & Political Science at Northwest Missouri State University is delighted to host the event this year. We hope you enjoy the papers and discussions over the next couple of days and that they give you a sense of the vitality of historical study in our state. From the study of slavery in Missouri to the plight of farmers in the Midwest during the nineteenth century, from roundtable discussions about the future of Missouri history to presentations about the impact of tourism on religion in Branson, there is a topic of interest for everyone.
The Missouri Conference on History has played an integral role in advancing the study of history in our state for nearly half a century. I do hope that you have a good time during your stay in Maryville and enjoy the conference. If you have any questions about the conference, do not hesitate to contact me at email@example.com.
