Missouri Veterans Oral History Project, 2006-, (C4020)

INTRODUCTION

Interviews with Missourians who served in the armed forces. The collection includes compact discs, audio cassettes, DVD, and transcripts of the interviews, as well as biographical information on the interviewees.

PROJECT SKETCH

The Missouri Veterans Oral History Collection is a regular, ongoing project conducted by the State Historical Society of Missouri. The project, which began in 2006, seeks to document the experiences of Missourians who served in the armed forces through the collection of oral history interviews.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

The Missouri Veterans Oral History Collection consists of oral interviews on audio cassettes, compact discs, and DVDs, and transcripts of the interviews. The first interview, William J. Higgins, Jr., was recorded on audio cassette and copied onto compact discs for patron use. This interview was also recorded on DVD by a family member and is included in the collection. The remainder of the interviews are on CD and are arranged in the order in which they were created; the transcripts are arranged in the same order. An alphabetical list of the transcripts is included in this inventory and an index to the transcripts follows this inventory.

In some instances, interviewees have donated supporting biographical information such as newspaper clippings, photographs, and miscellanea. These materials are filed after the corresponding transcripts.

Because this is an ongoing project the attached lists of CDs and transcripts might not be up-to-date. Consult the reading room staff for more information.
