INTRODUCTION

The Providence Baptist Church on the Big River, was organized on 11 September 1831 by James Williams and James Cudiff. The record book contains the monthly meeting minutes which list new members received into the church.

The record book of Providence Baptist Church was transferred from the State Historical Society of Missouri to the Manuscript Collection on 14 October 1971 (SHS Accession No. 888).
