DONOR INFORMATION

The records were donated to the University of Missouri by F.F. Stephens on 6 March 1947 (Accession No. 2891).

BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH

The Missouri University Athletic Association was started in September 1886 and that same year committees were appointed to organize two baseball nines and two football elevens. The first outstanding director of the Intercollegiate Athletics was C.W. Hetherington, 1900.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

The records contain recommendations for student athletic awards, bulletins on rules and regulations for various athletic associations, correspondence and minutes of intercollegiate athletic committees, and general correspondence between Don Faurot, Lee-Carl Overstreet, F.F. Stephens, Chester Brewer, Walter Williams and others, as well as financial reports, press releases, and schedules.
