This collection contains papers, photographs, and images from the Architect Hugo K. Graf and the architectural firm "Kramer and Harms." The Hugo Graf photos are generally of completed businesses and residences. The images are generally drawings of buildings, residences, and one drawing of a streamlined automobile from Lawncraft Incorporated. Also included are a copy of the "Missouri Ordnance News" that includes information wartime activities in Louisiana Missouri and several issues of the "Architectural Concrete" journal. The earliest document in this collection is a Graf paper that dates from 1924.

Gerhardt Kramer and Joe G. Harms formed the Kramer and Harms Architecture firm in St. Louis in 1956. Gerhardt Kramer was born in New Orleans on October 26, 1909. He received a Bachelors of Architecture from Tulane University in 1930 and his Masters of Architecture from Cornell University in 1932. He spent his early years working on several historical preservation projects in the French Quarter of New Orleans. He restored a number of historic homes and buildings before he joined the U.S. Navy in April 1942. He served in the Pacific during World War II and moved to St. Louis upon his return from active duty. He designed and built a home for him and his wife on 243 East Jefferson St. Upon moving to St. Louis, he joined the architecture firm of Hugo K. Graf, and took over the practice when Graf died in 1953. Kramer ran the firm for the next three years as Gerhardt Kramer Associates until incorporating with Joe Harms in 1956.
