This has been a very warm windy day. It is my oldest little brothers birthday. I am happy to think now he is in a better world out of all this trouble as we had rather a rough visit paid us today. Six of Craners men stopt and demanded arms. We had none to deliver but an old shot gun and they did not get that Dan had it and was not at home. They were very impudent. They went in the dining room and looked in sideboard. I was very much frightened but I was going to stay by Pa to hear and see what they did to him. He has never done or said anything he has always been for peace. Mrs. Tammy and Colter Brown came down this evening. They had no views in particular. This is a lovely night the moon is nearly fool. Dan Jo and Willie are all in my room talking now while I write. I have written this in such a hurry I scarcely know what I write.
