Grace Bumbry is an African American opera singer from St. Louis, Missouri, of international fame and importance. She has performed the great mezzo-soprano and soprano opera roles in all the renowned opera houses in the world. Her recordings have been bestsellers for seven major labels. Through her great singing talent and commitment to excellence, Grace Bumbry has fought and overcome racial and gender prejudice.
