Mary Frances Paxton Penney (1843–1913)

Mary Frances Paxton was born on October 28, 1843, to Richard Paxton and Mildred Burris. She grew up in Kentucky in a distinguished Southern family. She died on November 2, 1913, and is buried in Highland Cemetery, Hamilton, Missouri. J. C. Penney wrote about his mother in the pamphlet, “A Tribute to my Mother.”
